Dr. Lemak Selected As Honorary Chair for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life

Many of us know someone whose life has been touched by cancer. Dr. Larry Lemak understands the entire experience as he is a recent survivor of carcinoma of the tongue, a form of cancer which is the 7th most common form of cancer among men in the United States. He is now cancer free, and his hope is to help create awareness so others can detect cancer in the early stages through routine check-ups.

Dr. Lemak has been blessed with an opportunity to serve as the Co-Chairman for the American Cancer Society (ACS) Relay for Life event in Birmingham. The American Cancer Society Relay for Life program is about so much more than just walking around a track overnight. At Relay for Life events, we celebrate loved ones who have won their battle against cancer and remember those who are no longer with us.

This year’s event will take place at the Birmingham Crossplex from 6PM on Friday, June 14th until 6AM on Saturday, June 15th. My practice has decided to form a team to raise funds for the ACS, and all proceeds will go to cancer research. Any donation you make, large or small, will help reach the greater goal of saving lives from cancer! Click here to visit our Relay for Life page.
