Dr. Scott V. Appell
Dr. Scott Appell specializes in total joint replacement of the hip, knee and shoulder and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder.
Dr. Scott Appell joined Lemak Sports Medicine & Orthopedics in June 2010 and practices at our Trinity location. Dr. Appell specializes in total joint replacement and shoulder surgical intervention.
Dr. Appell received his Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences from The University of Florida and graduated with high honors, made the Dean’s List and the President’s Honor Roll. Dr. Appell continued his education at The University of Florida Medical School. Dr. Appell completed his General Surgery internship and Orthopaedic Surgery residency at The University of Alabama Medical Center, as well as his Hand and Microvascular Surgery residency.
Dr. Appell is a member of several professional societies which include: ABOS/AAOS, the Jefferson County Medical Society, the Jefferson County Orthopaedic Society, theAlabama State Medical Association and the American Medical Association. Dr. Appell is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Prior to joining Lemak Sports Medicine & Orthopedics, Dr. Appell practiced at the Alabama Spine and Joint Center, P.C. in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Appell is married to Hayden Appell and has three daughters. In his spare time, Dr. Appell enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.
