Dr. David Lemak
Dr. David Lemak is the second-generation member of his family of Lemak Sports Medicine. His father is
Lawrence Lemak, M.D. Dr. David Lemak specializes in sports medicine, arthroscopy and reconstruction of the knee, shoulder, hip and elbow.
Dr. David Lemak is a graduate of Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida. He completed his Bachelor of Science Degree in may of 1994. He received his medical degree at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham in May of 1999. Dr. David Lemak completed his residency at the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama in 2004. He completed a one year Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship with his father, Lawrence J. Lemak, M.D. at the American Sports Medicine Institute and Alabama Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center in July, 2005.
Dr. David Lemak was the second-generation member of his family to join the Alabama Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center practice. His father, Lawrence J. Lemak, M.D. was a founding member of the group twenty years ago.
Dr. David Lemak has several professional affiliations including membership in many of the orthopedic entities at the state, regional, and national level. He serves as a team physician for Samford University, Spain Park High School and Clay-Chalkville Middle School. He has participated in activities for NFL Europe and numerous screenings and high school physicals for Birmingham area institutions.
Dr. David Lemak, during his collegiate days served as an algebra tutor for children in inner-city schools and has also served as a little league soccer coach during his medical school training.
Dr.David Lemak and his wife, Tracy, have two children - David, Jr. and Sarah. Among his hobbies are deep sea fishing and spending time with his family.
